First, get Firefox. It's great, and you'll never see a popup again.
Second, get StumbleUpon. It's a Firefox add-on that let's you click a button, and be taken to a random webpage (from a list supplied by other users) I started at a collection of Calvin and Hobbes snowman cartoons, found a flash archery simulator, the top 10 ways to know you're an evangelical Christian, and now I'm at a site which is just a big sheet of bubble wrap. And you pop it. You can get a fresh sheet when you're done. This is incredible. I have to go now.
